Bernie Lee

Born and educated in Hong Kong, had developed a keen interest in photography during high school, and subsequently studied Art and Design at the University of Hong Kong. The duality of working behind cameras, complimented with his fine arts education, had earned him the apprenticeship with renowned commercial photographers in Hong Kong. In the 70‘s, Bernard was appointed the chief photographer for Asia Weekly, one of the leading magazines in Hong Kong. Consequently he became a free-lance commercial photographer/designer.

His accomplishments in art include an innovative photo exhibition, with a semi-abstract theme “Life & Soul” using water and ink technique, at the Exhibition Hall of Hong Kong City Hall.

By 1976, Bernard had moved to Vancouver, Canada, and was employed at Colorific and Commercial Illustrators, one of the most reputable custom lab and production house in town, responsible for colour mural enlargement and commercial photo production. Soon after,Bernard setup the first one-hour photo service chain in Vancouver and Victoria.

In light of the maturity of digital imaging technology in recent years, together with his drawing skill, has provoked a spontaneous sense of creativity, resulted the series of “WONDERFUL FIGURE”.

His works were shown at the Canadian Comparative Fine Art Centre in July 2005, “ArtShots” at the Tsawwassen Art Centre in November 2005, “Digital Fine Art Show” at the Chinese Cultural Centre Museum in January 2006 and “Woman” at Ferry Building Gallery in March 2006.
