新会人。自少爱好诗词文艺、书、画、音乐及舞蹈。 书法喜写行草, 宗二王;
国画自少在求学时期曾跟随尹如天、李寿庵学习虫鱼及山水, 后跟赵少昂学习花鸟。 抗战后与赵少昂、杨善深游, 亦师亦友, 吸取岭南画派绘法。
晚近独喜写墨竹, 转趋平淡。 现为香港中国美术会与香港兰亭学会永久会员, 常爱游山玩水, 携机漫游祖国山川名胜, 通过摄影镜头,
以国画手法表达诗情画意, 屡在本港举办个人摄影展览, 又应新会市新会摄影学会、新会市海外联谊会与新会景棠图书馆之联合邀请,
重展「黄山水墨之摄影作品」三十天于该市景棠图画馆。多年来亦多次被邀在本港各大摄影学会讲学, 佐以幻灯片阐释诗情画意之摄影艺术。
Born in Hong Kong. He became
an accomplished Chinese painter and calligrapher when young. Then he
took up photography at the age of 50. Mr. Tam now uses his camera as an
alternative tool to his painting brush. Mr. Tam has traveled extensively
in Mainland China and published many books on painting and photography.
He also has hosted many exhibitions on Photography and Chinese
calligraphy in Hong Kong and China. He is a member of the Hong Kong
Chinese Artistic Association and a regular contributor with a special
column in “The Camera World”. One of his photographs has been adopted as
the front cover of Readers Digest.
