新會人。自少愛好詩詞文藝、書、畫、音樂及舞蹈。 書法喜寫行草, 宗二王;
國畫自少在求學時期曾跟隨尹如天、李壽庵學習蟲魚及山水, 後跟趙少昂學習花鳥。 抗戰後與趙少昂、楊善深遊, 亦師亦友, 吸取嶺南畫派繪法。
晚近獨喜寫墨竹, 轉趨平淡。 現為香港中國美術會與香港蘭亭學會永久會員, 常愛遊山玩水, 攜機漫遊祖國山川名勝, 通過攝影鏡頭,
以國畫手法表達詩情畫意, 屢在本港舉辦個人攝影展覽, 又應新會市新會攝影學會、新會市海外聯誼會與新會景棠圖書館之聯合邀請,
重展「黃山水墨之攝影作品」三十天於該市景棠圖畫館。多年來亦多次被邀在本港各大攝影學會講學, 佐以幻燈片闡釋詩情畫意之攝影藝術。
Born in Hong Kong. He became
an accomplished Chinese painter and calligrapher when young. Then he
took up photography at the age of 50. Mr. Tam now uses his camera as an
alternative tool to his painting brush. Mr. Tam has traveled extensively
in Mainland China and published many books on painting and photography.
He also has hosted many exhibitions on Photography and Chinese
calligraphy in Hong Kong and China. He is a member of the Hong Kong
Chinese Artistic Association and a regular contributor with a special
column in “The Camera World”. One of his photographs has been adopted as
the front cover of Readers Digest.
