Nigel Szeto was born in 1950. His father Szeto Qi was a renowned pioneer of the South China painting style. Nigel studied under masters Chao Shao-On, Guan Shan-Yue, Li Xiong-Cal, Yang Shan-Shen, Chan King-Hung, Chen Shu-Soo and Lim Gin. He graduated with the highest honors from the Capilano College and Emily Carr Art College in Canada. His works have been exhibited in Canada, Europe and Southeast Asia. He is the founding Chairman of Cang Cheng Art Association, holds honorary posts and is committee and associated member of numerous art institutions. He has published the Nigel Szeto Art Album in 1996.
