1967 graduated from Canton Traditional Medical University, and worked as a family doctor for 13 years before immigrating to Canada in 1981.

Studied Chinese painting, scratching, water painting, oil painting, and acrylic painting from various famous local artist.

The James Tan Art Gallery offers Lectures & demonstrations will be on a monthly basis held on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Gallery.  Information on these demonstrations, called "Painters in Action", is available from the James Tan Art Gallery, or call 604-677-4082 or 604-649-0872.
