The 8^th Chinatown Arts & Cultural Festival

 

        Join us as we celebrate the 8^th annual Chinatown Arts & Cultural Festival on each of the four Saturdays in July with exciting programs featuring this year’s multicultural partners.  The event organizers, Carnegie Community Centre, Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver, Chinese Canadian Artists Federation in Vancouver, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, Powell Street Festival Society, Vancouver Chinatown Revitalization Committee and Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society join in partnership with Jacky Essombe and the Russian Community Centre to create performances that will thrill audiences of all ages. We’re kicking off the Festival, with support from the City of Vancouver, on July 5^th.

 

        Come to the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park Courtyard and join the fun.  Each Saturday has a different theme:

        July 5       : Asia Day (11 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

        July 12: Africa Day (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

        July 19: Drums Around the World (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

        July 26: Traditions of Old Russia (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

 

        Our participating ethnic groups are proud and excited to present their unique cultural songs and dance as part of this joyful multicultural celebration.  Don’t miss it! In addition, local artists will demonstrate their creativity at the China Gate open courtyard adjacent to the performances.  No admission charge; donations gladly accepted.
